“I always had a passion for filmmaking and visual communication. I completed a post-graduate diploma in Film and Television at VCA Film School, before founding Dream Engine. In the early days of the business we produced a wide range of work: from a promotional video for a building development company to short surfing documentaries for a surf DVD publication.”
“One of our early regular clients was IBM. Working for their design department based in Sydney, we shot a lot of their Melbourne-based content. We produced a number of videos for Councils around this time. We made a video for the City of Melton featuring future Prime Minister Julia Gillard. And a training video for the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council featuring Just Jeans founder Craig Kimberley.”
“I presented from stage for the first time at the Superfast Business online marketing conference in Sydney. And went on to present at future event including the Local Government Communication Professionals Summit, Linkfluencer LinkedIn Training, and RMIT University. I also launched a podcast, the Web Video Marketing Show, and guested on a number of international podcasts.”
“In 2014 I was brought to the USA by sports marketing agency Prism Communications. The company was producing web video marketing for some of the country’s top triathlon coaches. We drove across the country, stopping along the way to film coaches and athletes, including Olympic running coach Bobby McGee and legendary endurance swim coach Terry Laughlin. It was quite an adventure.”
“We’ve worked with many prominent business leaders, politicians, sports champions and music stars, including Ron Barassi, Julia Gillard, Luke Hodge, Kasey Chambers, Merv Hughes, Naomi Robson and Paul Kelly. We even got to shoot an interview for the BBC with Jimi Hendrix’s girlfriend, Kathy Etchingham, who shared the story behind how Hendrix wrote the song ‘The Wind Cries Mary’.”
“At the 2018 Australian Video Producer Awards, Dream Engine was awarded a Silver Distinction Commercial Award for Online Program Distribution. The video was produced for Horseland – Australia’s largest equestrian retailer – to help celebrate their 40th anniversary.”
“In 2021 Dream Engine produced a national TV commercial and social media video campaign for Epson Printers featuring comedy legend Jimeoin. The campaign highlighted the benefits of Epson’s refillable ink tank system in a fun and engaging way. It aired across Australia’s free to air TV channels. And a series of social media clips complemented the campaign.”
“Dream Engine continues to serve our clients in Melbourne, around Australia, and across the world. As the requirements of our clients have evolved, we’ve experienced rapid growth in our video animation, live streaming, and corporate photography services.
Dream Engine has pioneered new approaches including remote video production using webcams, and supporting our clients to generate their own video content.
What remains constant is our focus on clear and direct video communication to help drive the right action from your audience.”
