The Meydan Group
Meydan Group are an Australian based conglomerate that have been operating since 1982. They approached us to bring their marketing more in line with their brand and to reintroduce the company as the vast and diverse organisation that they have become. Their corporate video was created to show the strengths of the organisation, a strong family connection and a hands-on approach to entrepreneurialism.
Style
Meydan Group approached us to create a refined, elegant corporate branding video to suit their business. We conducted a series of interviews on our shooting day at their corporate headquarters in a beautiful office on Collins St. The interviews were focused primarily on what the Meydan Group had brought to the broad range of businesses under their management. From textiles, to software to property management, Meydan have a huge scope of knowledge and expertise, which we captured through our interviews. By asking each interviewer a few of the same questions, we can edit the answers together in a logical question-answer format with several different interviewees. We also prepared our interview questions to each participant to ensure they could convey their unique knowledge of the business.
Equipment
As the shoot took place over multiple days we used a wide array of equipment to capture the interviews and B-Roll. For shots that covered the many properties under Meydan management, we used the DJI Mavic Pro drone to fully capture the scope and location of the buildings, including a the beautiful St Kilda promenade. We used a slider to add a bit of movement to shots of buildings that can otherwise be quite staid and motionless. For B-Roll and footage shot around the Meydan offices, we used the DJI Ronin M, a three axis stabiliser to give the footage a Steadicam-esque gliding feel that allows for smooth motion and tracking shots with far less set-up time than a traditional Steadicam.
Post-Production
The post production process for the Meydan Group video was quite in-depth, featuring footage from multiple cameras all needing to be colour matched, synced and blended seamlessly into motion graphics effects. The editing process required categorising the interviewees’ answers into relevant sub-sections, then piecing together responses that told the compelling story of the Meydan group, from their humble beginnings to their current entrepreneurial ventures.
