You’ve decided to make a video of your upcoming event in Melbourne. We’ve been filming corporate events, conferences and speeches in Melbourne for over 15 years. Here’s the process we’ve developed and refined. It will help you to get the most out of your next event video.
Preproduction meeting to clarify details
We run through the details of your event with you in the weeks leading up to the event. That way, we know the best way to film the event, who we need to connect with beforehand, and any challenges that need to be solved. We also clarify the purpose of the video, which will determine the filming style: Are you considering live streaming your event? Is capturing the full presentations your priority? Or are you planning to create a short, punchy 3 minute edit to capture the feeling and energy of the day. We’ll also help you to make the most of the opportunity by suggesting ways of leveraging the content such as short videos for Facebook or Instagram. Clients often also choose our corporate photography service so that one company manages the delivery of still images as well as video. We also run through the brief for the photography here.
Visit the venue prior to the event
This helps to solve any potential lighting and audio challenges. And is a good opportunity for us to meet the venue or event manager. By building rapport with them early on, it helps to achieve a good working relationship, understand their needs, and work together in a collaborative way.
Liase with the AV team
Usually you will have a dedicated Audio Visual team for your event that will take care of microphones, projectors, slides, staging etc. We’ll get in touch with them before the event to explain what we’ll be doing, and talk about how we can work best together. Again, this helps to achieve a harmonious working relationship on the big day.
Specialist low light cameras
We will use specialist low-light cameras for your event. That way, we can achieve correctly-exposed, vibrant images, without the need for additional bright lighting that can be distracting for the presenters. We will then use subtle additional lighting to enhance the overall look.
Redundancy
There’s only once chance to get it right. No opportunity for a second take. So we record 2 versions of the audio and 2 versions of the video. That way, in the unlikely event of something going wrong with the audio feed from the AV desk, we’ll have a second version of the audio.
Multiple Cameras
Following on from above, by filming with multiple cameras from different angles, we can cut together a more interesting and dynamic video for you.
Backup
Once we get your footage back to the edit suite, we take a backup of your footage offsite. That way, no matter what happens, it’s safe and sound.
Complete the video fast
It’s important to leverage the interest in your event, by getting your video out there quickly. We get started on cutting your video as soon as the shoot ends, and have it ready for your within a day or two.
Get it out there
We help you with a strategy to get your video out there. Where to host it. How to distribute it. And how to track views. Once you’re planning your next event, get in touch, and we’ll be happy to help.
